Although I'm disappointed with the quality of the scan, I'm ridiculously happy with the actual shot. The only manipulation was the frame.

~LadyElendial was a wonderful subject for this piece, and I'd like to thank her for letting ~JustZink and I make her into our personal Barbie for the night. After around an hour of twisting and teasing her hair, applying layer after layer of make up and glitter(O, but the glitter!), and slipping from one outfit to another, I managed to get some beautiful shots.

For an explanation.. The book is one that I have. The middle is mostly cut out so you can keep something in there and hide it among your other books. (I keep a tin of Camel Twists in there.. Don't ask why; I don't smoke.) The cigarette behind the ear somewhat relates back to innocence still present in adulthood. Much in the same way a student might tuck a lock of hair or unused pencil behind her ear in childhood, so the cigarette may replace that in later life. The way she unabashedly meets your gaze enforces that. Even in the presence of the proverbial nails in her coffin, she won't flinch.. She won't avert her eyes.. She's just blatantly honest.
